Ricoh

In february 6, 1936 Kiyoshi Ichimura established the Riken Kankoshi Co., Ltd. company, as a firm for the production of photosensitive paper for photography and photocopying production firm, as well as optical systems

Ricopy 101 the first copier of Ricoh was introduced in 1955. The technology and functionality of this device was very different from today's Ricoh technology. A special (light-sensitive) paper was used for the first copier. In 1971, the first copier Ricoh PPC900 was introduced, using plain paper and constructed on the basis of electrophotographic printing technology.

In 1973, Ricoh introduced the world's first intercontinental fax machine Ricoh RiFax 600S, which was six times faster than the fastest machines of that time. This device became the ancestor of the new fax standard (which the CCITT Committee established at that time) and the world's first Group 3 fax machinef. Since then, Ricoh has made a significant contribution to the improvement of facsimile technology, constantly developing new approaches, improving quality and reducing transmission time.Ricoh tirelessly continued to develop new technologies. The equipment became faster, more reliable, more functional. One of the new technologies was color printing, which led to the appearance in the early 1980s of the first analog color copier Ricoh Color 5000 "Bird of Paradise". Around the same time, Ricoh began to develop digital technology. The result was the appearance in 1987 of the first digital copier Ricoh Imagio 320.

In addition to strategic achievements such as obtaining a certificate according to ISO 14001, the activities of Ricoh are marked by many prestigious awards and titles of governments, industrial and consumer groups. Among them is "Climate is Business" for the achievements of "Ricoh Company Ltd." in the fields of energy consumption and management and for supporting the environmental Kyoto Protocol

In October 2011, Ricoh Company announced the completion of the acquisition of Pentax Imaging Corporation and the name of the acquired company on the Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company. This company will develop, manufacture and sell consumer products and services from the field of optics, for example: digital cameras and interchangeable lenses, as well as accessories for cameras, products related to security cameras, and binoculars
